All Nations Succoth Celebration in Jerusalem with the ICEJ

It was indeed a very exciting event when the International Christian Embassy of Jerusalem (ICEJ) started the concert at the opening of the Feast of Tabernacle celebration in Ein Gedi last October 1, 2012. The feast was followed by the second night of festivities in Jerusalem the next day which was attended by over a thousand delegates from all over the globe. It was certainly a very successful celebration where many nations truly showed their support to Israel.
Basing his speech from the book of Genesis chapter 12: 1-3, one speaker said that the Lord had said to Abram to, “…leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who will bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”
In our viewpoint as Christians who are loyal and faithful to the land of Israel, we feel how God works for this blessed nation. He chose Abraham and his descendants, and through them they became a blessing to the nations.
The Philippines since the very beginning, is always and forever a partner of the State of Israel and its Jewish people as exemplified during the Holocaust. Our government led by former President Emmanuel Quezon accommodated the 3,000 Jews seeking for refuge in the Philippines. The second time was in 1948 when the Republic of the Philippines became the tie-breaker during the voting for the establishment of the Jewish State at the United Nations. And until these days, the Filipinos are very supportive to the nation of Israel and praying for the peace of Jerusalem.
And for those who have not known yet, the ICEJ celebrates the Feast of Tabernacle in Jerusalem annually to comfort the Jews and to gather all nations to support Israel as a nation through prayers.
Yearly, Filipino delegates from all corners of the Earth come to Jerusalem to celebrate the feast with the ICEJ, joining All Nations in declaring and shouting out their love to the nation of Israel. We’ve been an instrument praying for the peace and comfort of God’s people.
However, this year we have the lowest number of Filipino attendees but we always thank the Lord for bringing Filipinos to the feast. The delegates this year came from the United States of America, Sweden, Jordan, Korea, Japan, UK and of course from the Philippines particularly from Manila and Ifugao.
During the ICEJ parade in Jerusalem, we’ve been a witness in how All Nations openly proclaimed their love to Israel by printing out banners and slogans visible to the eyes of the Jewish people around. It was a fabulous parade where nations made their own whimsical costumes and styles in order to make them look unique and original.
We also saw some Filipino volunteers at ICEJ supporting the event, not just because of something in return, but because of their love to the nation.
We encourage all the Filipino Christians here in the Holy Land to continually support this nation no matter who we are or how hard it is to live in a foreign land. We give all-out support to become God’s instrument to comfort His people.
We give glory and honor to the Almighty for the privilege of celebrating Succoth with the Jewish people. Let’s reflect at the significance of this wondrous event in our lives by acknowledging the presence of God as we ‘wander’ in the Holy Land and by admitting that He is still the same yesterday, today and forever.
Always and forever God loves His people. And as a reminder for all Christians why we should support Israel, God uses Israel as a “Model” on how He deals with all the nations. Israel is to be the light to the Gentile nations. As we can see now, there are a lot of Messianic Jews joining the Christians in fulfilling the Great Commission to spread the good news to the whole world. Remember that God will use Israel during the end times so that all nations will know that He is Lord and the re-gathering of all the Jews back to Israel and the restoration of the nation of Israel will come into reality.
